Naboomspruit

Gathered roadside in the Naboomspruit/Mookgopong area, this wide, shallow bowl carries the trace of a life lived before it ever met a lathe — cavities, tool marks, and the delicate tunnelling of beetle larvae, heat-treated to still any remaining activity and left otherwise untouched.

Wide and open, it reads less like a vessel than a fragment of the tree itself.
